Unbreakable
Updated: Jan 14
I woke up late on Thursday, January 12th. I woke up with the alarm, but I was so foggy I just laid back down and slept two more hours.
So much for trying to readjust my hours.
On one of my deliveries, I fell while walking back to my car after leaving a package at the door of a Wal-Mart customer. I didn't see the step down on the sidewalk, and I hit my knees. I immediately rolled onto my back in pain, praying that nothing was broken.
My glasses had flown off my face, and my phone fell flat onto the concrete.
When I finally got the courage to try to get back up, I struggled and finally stood up, grabbed my glasses and phone - which, miraculously, neither were damaged. I walked to my car, praising God that nothing was broken, except my pride and dignity.
As I drove away I thought about the sign on the door where I had left the package:
"Smile! You are on camera!"
I couldn't help but laugh. I'm sure that if they watched the camera recording, they would be laughing as well, after the initial concern. Maybe it would be worth a good tip.
