Single on the Sabbath
Good Friday evening, World!
Today was a slow day. I miss my Uber. I'm never going to be able to pay my bills with just WAITr. I need both. I've only done 4 deliveries with Postmates. They just don't get the business either of other two do. And, Roadie requires travelling, which I can't do until I get my tags.
I'm sure if I lived in a bigger city it would be different. But, I am stuck here until I can get my Uber back.
I am at the mercy of the DMV.
In the meantime, I've finished all of Genesis, and am now into Exodus.
I am seeking to do my business in a Godly way. From what I remember, the Biblical workday is from sun up until sundown, which means I need to start waking up earlier. Part of why I am taking tomorrow off. The main reason for taking tomorrow off is because it is the Sabbath.
Many Christians argue that Sunday is the Sabbath now, but I can't buy that. God doesn't change, does He? He is the same today, yesterday and forever. He didn't change His mind about the Sabbath. Sunday was never meant to replace the Sabbath. It was added to it as a day of worship and fellowship by the early church.
The Sabbath is the seventh day, the last day of the week. Sunday is the first day, giving God the first fruits of the week. BIG difference, and the meaning is plain as day!
The Sabbath should still be kept, and Sunday should not be forsaken, either. Unlike Saturday, Sunday is a day of service.
So, I'm going to do it God's way. The Biblical way. And, I'm going to believe that God doesn't change His mind about anything, so what I am doing is right.
I went to mom's tonight and had chicken spaghetti. It was AWESOME.
I also received my dental and vision cards in the mail. (YES, I am INSURED now!)
And, I learned that I have made over $11,000 in the past 3 months, with mostly part time hours. I can't wait to see how well I'm going to do when I get my Uber back!
I am going to be studying a lot more in the Bible, too. I am anxious to be reminded of all the laws that have to do with work, as well as my daily living that I've forgotten due to lack of practice.
You don't get right and go to God. You go to God and He gets you right.
That's one of the best things about being single, nothing is standing between me and God. Paul said it best when he said that married people focus more on pleasing their spouse than pleasing God, and if it is possible, one should remain single - but it is better to marry if you can't control your sexual desire, better to marry than burn in hell. As long as I have no contenders, I don't even think about sex much.
Have a good night, World!
