Planning My Future Travels
So, since my phone busted last night and I am waiting for a new phone to arrive so I can continue to work, I am sitting here at home planning my future as a traveling missionary.
I have to be prepared to spend about $50/day to stay at cheap motels, OR, I can sleep at travel stops in most states, as long as I don't stay more than 24 hours in any one place.
Here are a list of states that allow it (and those who do not) Click HERE Even in those states that don't allow 24 hour stays, you are still allowed up to 8 hours to rest at rest stops. All I generally need is a place to sleep and a place to take a shower. Most states have truck stops with shower facilities for truck drivers and travelers.
It's cheaper just to take a shower and get back into my car. But, a good night's sleep is best if I get a cheap motel. Either way, I'll be able to stay clean and refreshed for the day ahead. I just want anyone who is checking in out of curiosity to understand that I did not just "pick up" and "take off" when I start my travels. I am planning ahead. I am doing the research. I want to know what resources are available to me while I am out there travelling alone.
I can get a mailbox with a physical address on it for just $10-$30/month at the UPS store.
I can get a Storage Unit for around $50-$100 per month to store my stuff in while I am travelling, so I will have it when I get ready to settle back down.
All of my bills are auto-deducted from my checking account so I don't have to physically be here to pay them.
I welcome any questions from anyone that will help me think of things I haven't thought of. I plan to start my travels by January 1, 2024. By then, I should have all of my kinks worked out.
