On Call

Good Evening, World!

Today I didn't start work until 1 PM.

Yeah, my hours are out of whack again, much to my dogs' chagrin. Although, I have to admit, they have been showing great restraint lately. Milo gets me back though, by refusing to mind me when we go outside.

He's learning, though.

Otis, on the other hand, loves to get petted and told he's a good doggy, so he tries too hard to mind. He will do something then come to me as if to say, "See mommy? Pet me now!"

Milo just treats Otis like, "Your just a suck up."

I remember treating my baby sister the same way, so I just laugh.

Anyway, it was slow, so I turned on all the apps. I tried to do a Door Dash, but I had to wait when I got to the restaurant. After waiting for 10 minutes for an order that was only going to pay me $3.50, I asked the server how much longer it would be (they were busy, so I was trying to be patient, but I also was cutting my arm off doing it because there were other apps I could've been making more money on in the time I was waiting) and was told the same thing I was told ten minutes earlier. So, I cancelled my pick-up and turned off the app.

Then, I made the decision to never work another Door Dash unless I absolutely had to. I took the app off my home screen, so I could focus on the others.

I did two Grubhubs (for twice the pay Door Dash just offered, each), and a Waitr (which paid a little more than even that), then I did a Lyft, and finally Uber started pinging...not much though.

I did two Uber runs, then a couple of guys told me that if I would be willing to give them my number, they would give me $100 now just to be available for them when they get ready to go back to their hotel. They didn't want to chance having to wait for a ride when they get ready. I asked them if they were serious, and he said, "I am serious. I'll even give you another $60 after you drop me off at my hotel." I couldn't turn that down.

I gave him my number. He called to confirm it was the right number, then I went to eat at The One Buffet to pass the time. Then, I went and parked near the pick up and waited for the call, and played Candy Crush until the call came, nearly 3 hours later.

It was worth it. I made way over goal, and there was little chance I would have done that otherwise today.

It's getting close to the end of the month, and Biden's inflation is not helping business one bit.

Ya'll have a blessed night!
