Hello, I'm Shonda Ponder. I am a self-employed courier and taxi driver.

I am a Christian and a Conservative American and native Texan.

My priority is Jesus. My goals are to win souls, to live abundantly and to pay my bills on time, in that order.

I look forward to communicating with you all!

Hope and a Future

It is nearly 3 AM on Valentine's Day. My hours are rotating nicely, since I've been stuck at home waiting for my car to get fixed.

Yesterday, I was finally informed that my car was approved to be fixed and should be fixed by the end of the day today.

I was so relieved.

But, I was also brought to the awareness, through all this, that God doesn't want me to wait until the last minute to make arrangements to do what He is calling me to do. I need to start NOW rather than later.

I took this time to educate myself, and to learn more about the goals I was setting for myself. I also looked for inspiration to do new things, and have bigger goals.

Yesterday I had eaten all I had left in my home and was brought to the point of needing to go out and get more food. But, since all the money I had was going toward my car, and what was left was going toward my bills, and I had no idea how much longer I was going to be stuck here at home, I decided to call a lender about a loan offering.

I was told I could go and get a check before this Friday, and not have to worry about making my payment until next month, which would help me greatly and provide me with the money I needed to pay bills and get food.

Another friend sent me $30 for food when I informed Facebook of my plans. Then, I was debating in my mind about how to get to New Boston to get my check. I decided to talk to the dealership first to see if I could get a loaner car; and, they informed me then that my car was approved for repairs. If it is not repaired by the end of the day today, I will be granted a rental by the warranty for up to five days.

It was like God was saying "Don't sweat it. I got this."

I was so excited that I ordered Church's Chicken through Door Dash.

It sure beat eating instant mashed potatoes and rice.

And, no. I didn't get mashed potatoes on the side.

Dear Lord, I praise Your Name! You are the beginning and the end. You know what You are doing even when I do not.

Thank You for the hope that You have provided, and the awareness of the shortness of time for me to do what You have called me to do. I will work toward that with diligence now.

Help me find a good home for my dogs. They don't deserve to be thrown into something that makes them unhappy, and they deserve to live comfortably with people who love them as much as I have.

Lead me, guide me, show me the way. Let my car be repaired well. Be with the mechanics as they work on my car, and as they go home to be with their families at the end of the day. Be with my children, where ever they are. Guide them toward You, Lord. Be with my lists and let it grow shorter.

In Jesus's Holy Name I pray, AMEN!
