Hello, I'm Shonda Ponder. I am a self-employed courier and taxi driver.

I am a Christian and a Conservative American and native Texan.

My priority is Jesus. My goals are to win souls, to live abundantly and to pay my bills on time, in that order.

I look forward to communicating with you all!

God of Second Chances

On wednesday, January 4th, I woke up at 11:30 a.m.. when I finally got out of the door to go to work, my first stop was to the bank to get what I had left out of paying all my bills so I could take it to pay my rent.

I only had $325 to pay my rent which was $690. I spoke to the lady at the desk and told her what was going on, why I was late, how unhappy I was about it, and that I would try to have the rest of the money by the 10th. It was the first time in 10 years that I had been late paying my rent.

Then I went to work. I didn't go through anything out of the ordinary; but, I didn't have a bad day either.

I had started putting my tithes into my God account again. I figure it was the only way I was going to be able to save for emergencies at this point. God would tell me how He wanted me to use it.

I was starting completely over. And, I praised God that He is a God of second, third, fourth, and fifth chances.

My doctor called me to make sure that if she renewed my prescription for my arthritis medicine that I wasn't taking the other arthritis medicine that she had prescribed before. I assured her that I didn't like the way it made me feel, and the only reason I was taking it was because I had run out of the kind that I had asked her to prescribe me. She said, "Fair enough."

And, compared to the day before, I was feeling 80% better. The swelling from what was probably high blood pressure from the stress had still not gone down completely, but I felt more energized.

I didn't come close to making my goal for the day, though.

Around 7:30 PM it was as if someone turned off a switch and I sat there for nearly 3 hours with not. one. ping.

I played a lot of solitaire and bingo on the phone.

I would panic, but it is just after the holidays, and I can't remember a time when it didn't slow down a great deal about this time of year. I just needed to be patient.

And, I hoped my bills were just as patient.

I went home at 10 PM and fixed me a tv dinner bowl, and started some stir-fry watermelon rinds on the stove from my freezer stash. I figured I should eat it.

Then, I tried not to think about my bills and just relax for the rest of the night.

For some reason, it was especially slow last night until early this morning. I did manage to make a $100 deposit, though. Not NEAR what I need for rent. I now have $250 of the $690 I need. I don't see
