God Help Me

I had a good night last night. I did a few deliveries for Grub Hub, but on two of them, when I got there, I was told it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait time, so I released the orders to another driver and went on to my next delivery. I could do 3 deliveries in the time they were asking me to wait.

There were 10 drivers on the app last night for Uber, so I wasn't about to sit there and twiddle my thumbs. If I am not moving, I am not making money.

I didn't really start making money, though, until I turned off the delivery apps and focused on Uber after 10 PM. I made about $65 doing deliveries, and another $120 driving people home from the clubs when it closed.

After one drop-off, I was heading back toward Summerhill Road on Shilling Avenue/University Avenue, and a buck nearly jumped in front of my car from a neighborhood yard. I followed him as he ran through the yards, jumping over yard toys, for at least a mile before he jumped a fence and ran off toward the woods. That was exciting!

Then, after I picked up a passenger for another ride home, I hit a dip in the road and when I came back up, my transmission fault light came on and I immediately pulled over to park the car and turned it off. I explained to the passenger that my transmission was acting up and I did not feel he would be safe riding with me because of it, and I need to get my car serviced before I could continue driving.

He called another Uber, who was there in less than 5 minutes, and I refunded his ride through the app.

After he left, I started the car again, and the light had disappeared. I drove it home with no problems.

When I got home, I deduced that maybe it was a fluke and debated whether or not to continue to drive the night out. I decided to try, since I needed to make rent by Monday.

I picked up another passenger and he said everything seemed fine, and it was probably just water got on something under there electrical for a minute, but it's gone and the car is fine.

A fluke.

I made one $100 deposit from my Uber app. The other apps haven't reached $100 yet.

Then, about 5 AM, I went home to rest.

I slept until 3 PM today, after I finally got to sleep around 7 AM.

I am praying for a profitable day again today.

Dear Lord, You are the God of protection as well as provision. I ask that You protect me on the road so that I can drive safely without incident, that my car is running right so that I can continue to work. You know what I need, and what is in my heart to do. And give me provision to get my car serviced on time.

Be with my lists and my children, make today profitable, both for me and for You. Thank You for the cash tip yesterday that I can use to bless someone with, if You provide enough for my bills otherwise. Keep me from temptation to sin; and give me opportunity to serve You!
