Cast My Cares
I woke up at 7:35 this morning. I am eating leftover chicken bean soup and crackers. It is really good.
Yesterday was a really slow day. I made about $80, then gave up. I sat for hours twiddling my thumbs.
I could have probably done some Spark deliveries, but Spark was only offering $4/delivery. It wasn't worth it to me, and even if I were desperate, it would behoove me to accept such low offers because it tells the customers that it is okay not to tip, and Walmart that it is okay to offer low pay.
And, the amount of time it would have taken me to have wait time until loaded, delivery and return time, I could do 3 good Uber runs and get paid 4 times more. so, if it isn't at least minimum wage per delivery, I will not take it. If it is two deliveries, they better be offering at least $15 for me to take the batch. Otherwise, someone more desperate and destined to fail at this can take it.
I have car upkeep and taxes to pay, not to mention fuel for the car each day, as well as bills to pay. Either Walmart needs to do better, or the customer does. If enough drivers turn down low pay like that, they will raise it. It's not like Walmart can't afford it now that it is employing all those "self-checkouts" and not having to pay cashiers to do the job. Their stocks are still soaring on E-trade, that is for sure!
Okay, I'm done with the ranting...
I did do one Spark run yesterday that paid $13 after I got paid $2 for arriving to pick up groceries to deliver and they hadn't even started picking the order yet inside. I definitely wasn't going to wait an hour and a half for that one so I canceled it, and immediately got the $13 run, after being paid $2 for showing up for the last one. I figured that about evened out.
Then, after I dropped the delivery, they offered me $8 to make two more drops. One of those was a trunk full of groceries. I turned it down and turned off the app.
The heat got to me the rest of the day. I can't sit in one spot with my car running because it eats up my gas, and if I run my a/c without my car running, it eats up my battery. So, I sit there playing games with the windows down while I wait for a ping.
I need to go to the eye doctor again and get my glasses replaced, but I can't afford it right now. I am over a year without an appointment now. And, I need my arthritis medication I haven't had in two months. I can't afford that, either.
Lord, You are the Great Physician.
You know my needs.
I ask You to watch over my over all health right now. I need Your healing touch on all aspects of my body as it ages and has more needs every day.
I also ask for a better day today than I had yesterday, even though I am grateful that I was able to have what I made yesterday. I cannot move ahead without Your push in that direction. I have to pay my rent next week, and I need to afford to, and I have a car payment to make on the 27th. I ask You to make provision, as I know You will!
And, whatever happens, let Your Will be done.
Please keep me safe and my car running smoothly.
Be with my children and my list. Thank You for answering all of the prayers that I have prayed thus far. I was checking the prayer list yesterday, and of the 40 on that list, You have answered 25 of them one way or the other so far! You are amazing!
My faith in You is secure.
Lead me, guide me, show me the way. Make me better today than I was yesterday.
In Jesus's Holy Name, I pray, Amen!
