I did a couple of Lyft runs and got tipped pretty well. I had been craving the taste of alligator for awhile, and I recently found out that Walk-On's Sports Bistreoux has it on their menu. I headed there to cure my craving.
But, they were out.

What a Testimony!
God is fixing to turn the mere $254 I have in the bank into the $1,363 I need by the end of the week!

Today, I started work at 11:20 AM. I say that because that is what time I took my first run of the day on the WAITr app.
There were times when I had all three apps (WAITr, UBER, and LYFT) waiting for a run. I was wondering if I was going to make any money...but I didn't have to sit for very long before one would ping me for a run.

Yesterday, I downloaded the Uber rider app; because it will show you how many drivers are in my area. I saw SEVEN Uber drivers out!
I knew I wasn't going to make any money in Texarkana, so I decided to drive the hour or so to Shreveport. I was hoping to do rideshare there, too.

Today was a somber, but eventful day. It was also the slowest day I have ever worked as a courier/rideshare driver. EVER.

Yesterday, I didn't have a chance to work much. I woke up and fiddled around while I waited on the plumber to come and fix my pipes for me. He was supposed to show up at 1:00 PM. He didn't. So I called and was told he was backed up with work everywhere because of the winter freeze, and he would get to it, but he was running late.

This morning, I still did not have water. So, I called the local truck stop to find out if their showers were working. They said it was. They said it cost $12 for a shower.
I texted my landlord and told her that my water was still not working. New Boston had some mains break, and had the water turned off. She said the water in the trailer park had also been turned off due to some trailers having leaky pipes.
I explained to her that I didn't have the money for a plumber, but I suspected mine were busted too. I offered to pay it out if she could send her plumber.

...Within 3 hours, I had made over $100, if you want to count the cash tips! So, I decided to go eat at Tacos 4 Life. It was my first time eating there, but I'd been inside to pick up food for customers before. I was impressed by their menu. ...

Yesterday and today has been so ... seclusive. Cramped. Boring. I haven't felt this "trapped" in a LONG time. Even quarantine didn't trap me like THIS!
Thank God, though. The North-east Texas winter snowstorm of 2021 is finally over. Now we deal with the residual effects:
Frozen pipes that need to be thawed. Frozen roads. Dishes that need to be washed and toilets that need to be flushed.
The Waiting is the Hardest Part

This morning would have been an awesome day to work, if there wasn't a foot of snow and ice on the ground, and it wasn't 15 degrees outside, and if the forecast didn't predict a foot or more of MORE snow and ice coming.
It would also be a GREAT day to stay home and cozy up to a fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and a book, wrapped in a quilt and leaning on a big pillow -- if I had such luxuries.
Urge for Going

...Then, I got into my car and, after thawing the windshield so I could see to drive, I set out to go to Walmart -- with the heater going full blast!

Sunday was Valentine's day. I like to call it "Single's Awareness Day" because it serves to enhance the envy I feel for those who are not -- even though I am thoroughly happy with my singular status, for the most part; except, maybe, on days like this.
Live Like You are Dying

My greatest desire is to help everyone experience tangible victories in their lives that they can pay forward. My method is to live like I am dying.
