"Shonda always wanted to be a journalist and never found the door to private companies, so, Being the Ponder she is, she built her own door, had a set of keys made so door could open both directions, and handed the keys to the public and said come in and feel welcome and warm, for God visits often. The law protects here, and I am here to hear your demands. PROUD OF MY LITTLE GIRL

Conservation Groups Challenge EPA's Gutting of Clean Water Protections in Federal Court

Source: The Ponder News

April 29, 2020

Conservation groups challenged in federal court the administration's effort to gut clean water protections from wetlands and streams that feed drinking-water sources for 200 million Americans and 32 million people in the South, or seven out of ten Southerners. The legal challenge, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, opens a major court battle over the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' re-definition of what waters are protected under the Clean Water Act that leaves many waterways unprotected as well as the communities and wildlife that rely on them.

Human Rights First: President Can’t Unilaterally Suspend Immigration

Source: Human Rights First

April 26, 2020

“The Trump administration has already used the pandemic to suspend the processing of asylum cases at the border, violating U.S. laws and treaties. The United States offers asylum to refugees because we aspire to be the land of the free, and we are committed to protecting refugees and asylum-seekers by treaty. These obligations and traditions of protection are compatible with public health. The president's fear-mongering is not.”

Source: International Ultraviolet Association

April 26, 2020

Recent reports suggest that ultraviolet (UV) light can be used on the human body to disinfect against the coronavirus. The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) and RadTech North America are educational and advocacy organizations consisting of UV equipment vendors, scientists, engineers, consultants, and members of the medical profession. We would like to inform the public that there are no protocols to advise or to permit the safe use of UV light directly on the human body at the wavelengths and exposures proven to efficiently kill viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. UV light under the conditions known to kill such viruses are also known to cause severe skin burns, skin cancer, and eye damage. We strongly recommend that anyone using UV light to disinfect medical equipment, surfaces, or air in the context of COVID-19, applications that are supported by sound scientific evidence, follow all recommended health and safety precautions and to avoid direct exposure of the body to the UV light.

Constitutional Oversight and Regulation of Commerce in the Face of COVID-19 Shutdown.

Source: Jason Brown

April 24, 2020

The US Constitution gave birth to a unique form of government, that of a constitutional republic. For the first time in the history of the world, a country’s founding document set out to restrict actions and authority of the government rather than attempt to control the citizenry. I felt the need to write this article to explain the reason why Trump is declaring that he has executive authority to reopen the national economy. First of all, during one of his task force briefings when questioned about this authority by the press, he said that he allowed the governors to implement restrictions for their state as they see fit to accommodate their own people during this so-called outbreak. The key word here is “allowed”. He did this knowing that ultra-liberal governors would impose draconian limits on individual liberty and use the virus as an excuse to do it. He also knew that the more conservative governors would act appropriately while observing constitutional boundaries. He has exposed the dictatorial nature of those that thirst for god-like authority over the masses.
